Who is a leader?
What is a leader voice?
Where in our career does leadership development start?
Why is understanding organizational leadership so important?
Welcome, I am excited to be here with all of you! Answers to these questions will unfold as you explore what’s here. My mission for this site stems from the premise that we are all leaders. Yes, all of us, no matter where we are in our career!
Think about all of the people you come into contact with every day in your organization, who do you spend the most time with? How are you presenting yourself and engaging others during those interactions…are you speaking positively? Are you supportive of change? Every assignment and interaction is a chance to lead yourself, and others, in a positive way…the ways that make great leaders, well, GREAT!
That is why I believe that we are all leaders. We all have opportunities every single day in our organizations to lead ourselves and lead others in a positive way. We do that through our voices, our actions, and even our thoughts.
“If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.”John Quincy Adams
Whether you are new to learning about leadership or a seasoned leadership professional, growing and adapting your leadership skills is an ongoing journey. Leadership doesn’t have an end game, and it doesn’t belong only to specific titles or people; leadership belongs to all of us!
My vision for this site is to assemble a diverse collection of all things leadership representing many topics and points of view. There will be blogs, links, book suggestions, contributions, and whatever else fits! I hope that you find some inspiration here to begin or continue your journey to find, develop, and use your leader voice for yourself and to lead others. If you get inspired to even take just one step beyond where you are now, then I’ve done a good job using my own leader voice!
Lead on, everyone!
